Following in Amélie Poulain’s Footsteps – A Charming Paris Stroll
Start your walk at Blanche metro station, then head up Rue Lepic to find the iconic Café des Deux Moulins, where Amélie worked—its vintage zinc bar is still intact, and yes, you can order a crème brûlée to crack with the back of your spoon. Just a bit further up the hill, you’ll come across the Maison Collignon, the little grocery store from the film, now proudly bearing its cinematic name.
Continue your route to the square Willette, just below the Sacré-Cœur, and take in the old-fashioned carousel. Climb the steps or hop on the funicular to reach the top, then wander through the romantic backstreets of Montmartre, from Rue Saint-Vincent to the hidden Allée des Brouillards, where Amélie loved to daydream. Just a few steps away is Lamarck-Caulaincourt station—this time, truly her metro stop.
Finish your stroll at Gare de l’Est, imagining the film’s whimsical scenes, and head to the peaceful Canal Saint-Martin—Amélie’s favorite spot for skipping stones. Now it’s your turn.
